Friday's run

I completed week 4 day2. My foot is still killing me and it is Sunday. However I went grocery shopping and cleaned out the garage yesterday, so maybe that is why. It was supper cold yesterday. I'm really hoping that today isn't quite as cold. I am suppose to complete day3. That would send me on to week5! I am so excited to keep going. I'm not losing weight, but I think it is more a problem with my diet than with exercise. I plan on attempting to eat better the next couple of weeks. We will see if it helps! I'm going to have to limit how much Dr. Pepper I drink, which is definitely a weakness!

Week4 day1

I did not anticipate being able to complete today's run the way it was written. Run 5 minutes straight? You've got to be kidding me. I did it though~ just the way it was written!! It was really really windy, and that helped me at the beginning and hindered at the end. I did 2.21 miles in 36 minutes. Not the fastest, but I did it anyway. Some of it in the ditch. Does anyone else have a problem with having to dodge cars? Makes me sooo mad! Even when the other lane was empty, people would force me off the road. I live in a really small town. The roads aren't that busy. To give you an idea, we literally have 2 flashing red lights. That's it. The 2nd light was actually installed within the last couple of years. A tractor passed me for goodness sake! How hard is it to get over when you see a runner huffing and puffing trying not to twist an ankle by staying on the far side of the road? OK rant over!

yesterday's run

Yesterday I ate a bunch of chips and dip. I thought about skipping my run, because I was discouraged. I didn't though. I went through with it, and I'm so glad I did. My headphones only have one side that work, but I got new inserts for my shoes. That alleviated a lot of my foot pain. My knees don't hurt anymore either. It was a beautiful day, I even wore short sleeves it was so nice. I completed week 3. So tomorrow I will be starting week 4! I can't believe I have been able to do this much! I have to say, I am proud of myself.


I am going to be signing up to do the Full Moon 5K in May. I get a tshirt for participating. My husband says he doesn't want to go. I guess I will have to get someone else to go with me to take care of my BF child. I can't push her in the stroller as strollers are prohibited in the 5k. My goal is to run the 1/2 marathon by November. I've found some other races to do this summer also. I figure if I finish the 5k in my with a time under 35 minutes (PR from my first and only 5k from before my son was born) I am treating myself to a full outfit for running. Pants, panties, socks, sports bra and top. Maybe even new shoes! Anyway that is my goal, and I will be running again tomorrow. I will update and let you faithful readers (me) know how it goes! LOL!

Week 3 Day 1 complete

Ok, I just want to say, running against the wind is hard! I had to work hard to do what was required. I did a little extra walking because I had to to get home! My knees are killing me, but I have to say that I am pretty proud of myself for getting it done anyway. It was cold and windy, and I did it anyway! I will be a runner yet!

I am starting week 3 day 1 of C25K tomorrow

I have been doing really well with the running. I haven't missed any weeks since starting. I even ran in the rain! Can you imagine? Me almost 200 lbs out there plugging away. I am going to be starting a clean eating program on Monday. I think I will probably go through withdrawls for sugar, but it is the only way for me to lose weight. My knees and foot are hurting, but I figure once I lose some weight it will get better. I am going to be signing up in April for a 5k with a friend. I'm really looking forward to it. If you see a fat old lady out running, do me a favor and don't laugh! I got to get out there and do something or I will always be fat!!! I will update tomorrow!
